Gas Prices Part Deux
Well...I did a bit of quick calculation, as a way of comparison. I read somewhere that gas (petrol) in Great Britian is 1 pound sterling per liter. Soooo, I went on one of those trusty exchange calculators. 1 pound sterling is worth about $1.82. So gas there is about $1.82 a liter. Multiply that by 3.8 to convert to gallons... $6.90!
And I thought prices here in the US were high!!!
Dag, yo.

Holy crap. I also heard (not that this has anything to do with gas prices, but...) you have to use coins to go to the "public" loo! Probably because the cost of treating water is so high...I never looked at it that way before.
Makes me proud (or at least relieved) to be an American.
On the other hand, I read somewhere that there are countries where gas is only 14 cents a gallon. When I find out what planet this country is on, I will let you know. :-)

And also...I took a class in French in high school. My teacher said that to get a driver's licence (to go with the spelling you have thoughtfully provided), you have to be at least 18 and pass a test that makes the ACT look like a personality quiz in Seventeen. But most of their teens and twenty-somethings travel in packs, ride bikes, etc. Also, they have decently good public transportation.
